The
Theo Woollett show
Perfect weather, a big crowd and some of
the best Sport Compact drag racers in the country
all combined to make the final round of the ANDRA
Sport Compact Series one of the best yet! The
WSID crowd was treated to some tightly fought
competition, ANDRA national record-breaking runs
and non-stop action that kept everyone on the
edge of their seats.

The March 10 event was the concluding round of
the 2006/2007 ANDRA Sport Compact Championship
Series and with the trophies up for grabs, the
big guns where firing.
In Sport RWD it was the Theo Woollett show, with
the GT-R flexing it muscles in both qualifying
and eliminations. The 'ON EDGE' GT-R top qualified
and then proceeded to smash the ANDRA national
records for both elapsed time (9.595 down to 9.11)
and terminal speed (146.58 up tp 159.85). Shane
Crichton's new engine combination looked extremely
strong 'off the trailer' and helped him through
to the semis but the final was between two Skylines,
the rear wheel drive car of Brett Marr and the
all wheel drive GT-R of Woollett. Woollett took
the win and celebrated with a full track burnout
beside fellow GT-R runner Mark Jacobsen.
"I thought to myself we were going to have
a good meeting after we won the first round,"
Theo said. "The first round is always the
nervous round, and we felt a lot easier after
that. "It means a lot to the team to finish
the season on a high and to come away with both
ends of the national record
"I would personally like to thank all of
the WSID and ANDRA staff that help put the events
together. Frank Cannistra, Aaron Brookes, Vic
Lester, Kim Evans, Lee Docherty, Rob Iacono and
many others all give their time and I am immensely
grateful. In addition, special thanks to John
and Sandra at WSID for their help with the event.
"All The racers have done a great job too
and the quality of the field goes up with every
event. The Sport Compact area is all about workshops
and without the continued patronage of the best
workshops in the country; we would not have events
like these. Thanks again to all my fans and we
are now off to the mini jam.
